Using the Bible as our foundation we will honor God by growing in faith and love, sharing Jesus and giving generously

Spirit of Hope Lutheran Church History, Mission, Vision and Values

Our History:

In January 2010 several like-minded families in the Parker-Aurora area came together with a common desire to form a confessional Lutheran worshipping community. They were joined by Pastor David R. Fisher who agreed to be their pastor/developer and subsequently led them through the initial stages of establishment of a mission congregation and affiliation with Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). On May 16, 2010 Spirit of Hope Lutheran Church was created at a founding event in which charter members adopted a statement of faith, constitution and bylaws, and an official call was issued to and accepted by Pastor Fisher. Spirit of Hope is currently meeting in Pine Lane Elementary South, 6485 Ponderosa Drive, Parker CO 80138 and has grown to over 120 members with an average worship attendance over 50. Property has been aquired at 7060 Ponderosa Drive, Parker CO 80138; a facility has been designed and construction is expected to resume in January and be completed and ready for worship in the fall of 2017. Praise the Lord who has been so faithful and generous in his blessings to and through this fellowship.

Voices of Authentic Faith

Our Mission:

Using the Bible as our foundation we will honor God by growing in faith and love, sharing Jesus and giving generously

Our Vision:

Our vision is to be a church that produces disciples of Jesus Christ who...

  • Have accepted Jesus Christ as Godís Son and their personal savior
  • Know the Bible as Godís Word and study it and apply it regularly to their lives
  • Regularly worship God corporately and privately
  • Can articulate a witness to their faith
  • Fellowship with other believers, give back generously to the Lord, and live out their Christian calling in this life

Our vision at Spirit of Hope is to be a church community where those involved have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ and seek to live that out in their individual lives and our life together. The Bible is foremost in everything we do. Our members will know and learn more about the Bible and how it directs their personal and church life together. We will have a vibrant Sunday and weekly education culture where we want to gather around Bible study and use the Bible to help answer tough questions about life . Members will know how to use their Bible and will use it regularly in private prayer, devotions, classes, small groups and fellowship events. We welcome individuals into our midst who want this relationship with Jesus and will raise our young people up to know the Lord through the scriptures.

We will celebrate the good news in Christ weekly in inspiring and joy filled worship that proclaims the Gospel, uses the scriptures as a foundation and employs the best of the Lutheran tradition to understand the Gospel (Grace alone, faith alone, scripture alone; Law and Gospel; Priesthood of all believers; and Two Kingdoms theology).

We will fellowship with each other regularly and be a church that practices personal and community stewardship that allows people and the church to give back to the Lord generously by tithing, working toward tithing or even giving beyond tithing. Further, we will be generous with our talents and time to church and others, but will respect the healthy boundaries and balances of work and rest that God sets forth.

Our Values:

  • A Close Personal Walk with God (Micah 6, Romans 8:15-16, John 17:20-26)
  • Living in a Community of Christian Love (John 15:9-17, 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, John 13:34-35)
  • Honoring God with Our Lives(Deuteronomy 5:6-21, Ephesians 4:17-24, Galatians 5:16-26)
  • Holding a High View and Use of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:14-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Matthew 5:17-19)
  • Serving God and Others(Philippians 2:3-4, James 2:15-16, Luke 10:25-37)
  • Sharing God with Others(Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Timothy 4:2-5, 1 Peter 3:15-16)
